My 11 year old son has a teacher that uses Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon and Bakugan to motivate her students. She is, of course, his favorite teacher. She gives them cards for making 100s on quizzes and let's them battle in class if they get their work done early. She battles with them. While it motivates the students, it also lets her get rid of some of her own energy and deal with her own issues. It works well for her and she is a great teacher. I think it is a matter of finding a way to release it rather than to hide it, as we know is useless. If you will be teaching elementary students, I'm betting it will work for you rather than against you. Your students may relate to you better because of the energy you have. I hope that helps. :-)

Oh, I got them all! ahahaha...but I have some more....

The Evil One
its when i'm in my depressed episode and she's the one who advises me to hurt myself, or others. in this personality, I have hallucinations about anything evil...

The Inoccent
i dunno when this occurs, but this is the time when I play innocent, as if i dont know anything. but i know it. but i feel i dont know it so i believe that i dont really know it. i just realize later that i do now about it. i flash a big innocent eyes at them, blink them several times a minute, pout mylips and talk in childish way.

The cartoon character
its a crazy and the most animated, thic-skinned and childish personality i have. i can go jumping, tumbling, shouting "powers!!!!" and posing like cartoon characters infront of people..i talk about useless and crazy thins, i laugh hard and make fun of people. i'm stupid in thiskind of manic episode...

You said:
"You state that most people with DID also have bipolar disorder, and that is simply incorrect."

I said:
"Before it is asked, I do not have Dissociative Identity Disorder. I have bipolar disorder and the mood swings associated with it create different reactions that manifest in pretty much the same manner each time. I call these “personalities”, but they really describe how I react to varying moods. I’m pretty certain others who have had bipolar disorder for a while have noticed the same tendencies.

Perhaps you misunderstood.

You said:
"You also state that the same medications are used to treat the two conditions."

Nowhere in the article was medication mentioned for either condition.

Perhaps you should re-read the article.

Bipolar disorder and dissociative identity disorder are two very different disorders. It is possible to have both, but that is actually very rare. You state that most people with DID also have bipolar disorder, and that is simply incorrect.

You also state that the same medications are used to treat the two conditions. That is incorrect as well. There actually are no medications used to treat DID. Medication may be used to treat anxiety, depression, or sleep problems that may occur along with DID, but there are no meds that treat DID itself. Bipolar disorder, on the other hand, is usually treated with mood stabalizers or anti-convulsive medications. Those are not prescribed to treat DID. They would only be prescribed for a person with DID if that person also had bipolar disorder (which is rather rare).

I think my Wise Woman is scared of the Angry One because she hasn't appeared in some time now. My "voice of reason" went on vacation. lol Honestly, I think it's time for a change in meds for me. Glad to hear the new meds are helping!

Oh yeah, especially The Angry One, Deny & Deflect and The End is Near. Denying & Deflecting allllll over the place. I do have a Super Woman, but she wants to fix things for everyone ELSE (anyone not me, that is), and thinks she can. I also have a Wise Woman that pops up on occasion - she's the one that says "Really? You really want to spend the afternoon ruminating over that perceived mistake from 15 years ago? Nah - let's go paint or something." She comes out more with the new meds I'm on, I'm damn happy to say.
