I have a lot of trouble focusing at times and I have found that many of the medications used to treat bipolar disorder make that even worse.

I don’t have a problem telling people anymore. It makes me mad when people act stupid and others will say, “I think they are bipolar.” That’s usually when I pop up and say that I have bipolar disorder and it never fails to shut someone up. I think a lot of people have no clue what it is. They associate everything bad with it and it has become a label used to describe not so nice people, which makes it worse for us. People just assume that we’re raving lunatics waiting to go on a rampage. I have my moments but I don’t think I’m going to turn into a serial killer or anything any time soon. lol

I used to feel guilty about the stress it causes my children, but I have finally come to terms with it. It’s not any different than having a parent who is chronically ill. We ARE chronically ill. If a child has a parent that requires constant medical care and is always sick then they are stressed. It isn’t the parent’s fault and it isn’t our fault either. It’s an illness and we can’t make ourselves well. We just manage it the best we can and that’s all anyone can ask of us.

I actually have just got off the phone with my neighbor -and googed antipsychotic meds- she was talking about one of our clients – confusing- I am a real estate agent- she ( Tammy) is my stager/decorator). I just sold this ladies house – who had a heart attack last night – and Tammy said it is pobably for the better as she was very depressed and in her 70’s, blah, blah – i said well I take meds and Tammy said “well you take psychotic drugs” – so I google this – bi polar pops up on the first page – ….and then I want to cry because I am always in denial – i have the rapid-cycling form……
and when I am open to certain people and tell them i am bi-polar cause i feel maybe they would understand me more – they seem to treat me different after that – like maybe i am stupid or something
so when i went to this site – there you were..blogging – and when you said yyou were sad – i had to answer…
you will feel better – it is ok to feel this way –
sometimes i say to my friends- ” i dare you to step into my body for 1 day” – everyone always laughs – but no one ever says – oh i would love that
I live in Ottawa Canada- I am divorced – 2 kids – 22 and 24 years old still with me – they say i make their life miserable- I am a very successful real estate agent – make a 6 figure income – only cause i work really hard – and for the hours i work i should make a lot more – but it takes a lot of time for me to do what everyone else can do in way less time.
do you have trouble focusing ?
