Fireworks at Pickwick Dam

Sorry I am so late today. I came back to a mountain of work and had tons of things to catch up on.

We camped at Pickwick Dam and had a great time. On Saturday, we watched fireworks over the river. It started raining right about the time the fireworks started so it was interesting. I wasn’t able to get as many pictures as I wanted to but I did manage to get a few good ones. My hubby and one of our friends held a piece of cardboard over my head so I wouldn’t get my camera wet. Someone next to us said, “You might be a redneck….” Ok, maybe it looked funny but my camera wasn’t damaged by the rain so phhhtt!

Everyone rode over in the back of my truck so we had to cram into the cab. That was loads of fun. Two people still had to ride in the back and I felt sorry for them. We inched across the bridge in very heavy traffic while it rained on them the entire time.

The boys all disappeared around 1 AM and walked the trail to the riverfront. They texted us pictures of the fire they built on the beach and one of the guys jumped into the water. The same guy walked into a tree and the other one got scared when my hubby turned the flashlight off and went running through the woods. We’re an interesting bunch, to say the least.

Sunday was spent sleeping in and packing up. I hate packing up. Not only is it a lot of work, but it also means we’re heading home. Oh well. It’s back to the insanity as usual.
